A Trial on the Evaluation of Hazard level of Workplace by Scoring method, Report (1)

Abstract
|
|
|
This study was carried out to evaluate the level of hazard status of working place of an establishment as a whole and to indicate the level, of the status with a simple Harm Index for popular use.
The Harm Index was calculated out by summation of weighted score of eight harm factors regarding to six determinants.
Applied factors and determinants were as follows;
Factors: illumination, noise, dust, thermal condition, organic solvents, lead, other metals, and other hazard substances.
Determinants: concentration or intensity, of ´ the factors, exposure time, physical activity level at working, number of exposed person, accuracy of the work and potential hazard of the factors.
The Harm Index is expressed as zero or positive number and hazard levels of factories can be evaluated by this.
The practical application of this method was performed_ at three rubber and PVC
plastic factories,. and obtained Harm Indices 1. 25 and 3.00, for, rubber factories and 15.32 for PVC plastic factory respectively.
